Her Majesty The Queen Goes Platinum

QHS Congratulates Her Majesty The Queen On Start Of Her Platinum Year

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II became Queen on 6th February 1952, after King George VI of Great Britain and Northern Ireland sadly died in his sleep at the royal estate at Sandringham in Norfolk. Consequently, 6th February 2022 marks the start of Her Majesty's 70th Jubilee Year as reigning Monarch, and what a servant and rock she has been to the entire Nation throughout the last 70 years.

The formal celebrations to herald this landmark achievement are on Thursday 2nd June when there is an extra Bank Holiday to mark Her Majesty's Coronation Day 70 years ago in 1952, and another Bank Holiday on Friday 3rd June when there is a special Bank Holiday to officially mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

So, one could argue that the Queen's Holiday Season (QHS) started on 6th February 2022, the day she acceded to the Throne. Her Majesty Elizabeth II is Queen of the United Kingdom and fourteen other Commonwealth realms. Queen Elizabeth (full name Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor) was born in Mayfair, London on the 21st of April 1926, as the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York. Her father ascended the throne in 1936 upon the abdication of his brother, King Edward VIII.

Whilst the vast majority of us in the UK will no doubt be Celebrating Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee during the two successive days of Bank Holidays on 2nd and 3rd June, many of QHS's gas and electrical engineers will be on call working to deal with any gas or electrical heating emergencies (as we all like to have the use of hot water, even in June), as they always are 24 hours a day, 365 days a year or 366 days every Leap Year.
