Find Out About QHS's 5 Social Value Themes

QHS's approach to Corporate and Social Responsibility concentrates on five social value themes that directly contribute to our strategic priorities as a responsible business. In alphabetical order these are Community, Economic, Employees, Environment and Trust.

These five social value themes balance our responsibility of serving our clients and their customers, connecting everyone to the energy they use today, with the need to improve access to sustainable energy solutions that will underpin successful communities in the future. QHS get involved with the things that matter to our clients, their customers, our employees and to society for the future, so that our business continues to create social value within the communities we operate in.

Community - From within the communities we serve we take on and train apprentices, working with local community partnerships and Job Centre Plus to engage with young people. We support local schools in STEM experience’s and provide work experience placements. We have employees who are able to directly converse in many different languages, therefore enabling us to communicate in the vast majority of cases in the customers 1st language.

Economic - We implement innovative technology to reduce cost, improve customer experience and eliminate unnecessary travel to job locations using telematics and augmented reality diagnostics. We source our goods and services from like-minded, ethically driven organisations local to the communities we operate in wherever it is possible to do so.

Employees - We are an accredited Living Wage Employer in London and the Home Counties. We take the Health, Safety and Wellbeing of our employees very seriously. QHS always aims to be a great place to work and get on, with a great employee value proposition to reward, develop and retain people for longer.

Environment - Our vehicle fleet is rapidly changing to all-electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles with a maximum of 30g/km emissions. Our aim is to transition to a 100% all-electric fleet by 2025. Fleet Telematics have enabled us to deliver significantly lower fuel consumption and less carbon emissions. We are ISO 14001:2015 accredited for Environmental Management and recycle absolutely everything we possibly can as we take our role in this very seriously and responsibly.

Trust – As a diverse and inclusive organisation our policies on business ethics, fraud and bribery, ensure we are both an employer of choice and a provider of choice to our customers. Our principles for trust are based on fair pricing, ethical employment and high work standards which are externally accredited on an annual basis by an independent auditor.

In terms of social action QHS, along with it's staff, regularly raise money within our High Wycombe Head Office in South Bucks for local charities and help organise and contribute to food banks like One Can Trust and Wycombe Food Hub.
