QHS Prize Donation Helps Raise £4,000 For Macmillan Cancer Support

QHS recently donated two Bobby Moore Club full hospitality tickets as a charity raffle prize to an England International football match at Wembley Stadium for Beaconsfield Artisans Golf Club Centenary Charity Raffle Draw on 10th April 2022, where 100% of the charity raffle ticket monies sold were split equally between two local Charities.

All the 10 raffle prizes for this charity draw were donated, enabling the very credible sum of £8,000 to be raised. A cheque for £4,000 was presented to Nick Cray the local Chairman of Macmillan Cancer Support and a further £4,000 is going to Thames Valley Adventure Playground in Bourne End. Thames Valley Adventure Playground is a charity that offers a unique range of adventurous, therapeutic and educational play activities in a safe, caring and stimulating environment, catering for both children and adults with all types of disability

In a letter of thanks from the South Central Branch of Macmillan Cancer Support following they were keen to stress to all those involved that "Your support and fundraising is not taken lightly by us as it is the equivalent of 125 nursing hours, or 10,526 ‘Preparing a child for loss’ booklets, could run our online community for 235 hours reaching around 15,529 people or could give a total of 11 grants to families who can’t afford to pay for their heating or perhaps transport to and from the hospital for their treatment. These are all vital and services we could not provide were it not for supporters like you. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of everyone at Macmillan and those in our care. Thank you for supporting our cause and for going the extra mile to help us reach more people affected by cancer."

QHS are proud to have been able to contribute towards this local charity raffle being such a success for the two charities concerned.
